Purple Palace Mural
Of all the murals I've done, this is the one I'm most proud of. Connie, of the Purple Palace, had seen another mural I painted for "Lalo's" a Mexican restaurant
in San Diego and asked if I would consider doing one for the kids she rescues off the streets in Tijuana, Mexico. I couldn't think of a better way to
"Give Back" and so I agreed. Most of these kids come from dangerous streets and abandoned by family.
I came up with this mural which has children being led along the beach by Pegasus and holding onto a purple ribbon.
I painted 16 different animals for them to find including two monkeys, snake, gecko, woodpecker, frog, armadillo, mouse, dolphins, whale, seagull & more.
There is a purple palace on the upper left side (see below) all within a tropical, Mexican setting.
In the photo above are some of the little kids that the Purple Palace helps to stay healthy and safe who posed in front with me.

Below is a brief quote from their site and a clue about the importance of their work.
"In 2001, we began renting a big warehouse in the heart of the Red Light district for $1000 dollars a month.
We had volunteers renovate this warehouse to become a pleasant place with a dormitory for boys, 2 living areas,
a dining area, a kitchen and 2 bathrooms. , We had 20 boys.These boys were ones that roamed the streets all night ,
would be raped, some were doing drugs and selling them, some would sell little girls to pediphiles for $10 each.
When they were bored, they would find drunks on the sidewalk and take their alcohol ,
pour it all over them...
