![]() Trompe Cut-outs
"Nina" is a trompe l'oeil wood cutout fastened to the outside wall of our studio. We get a lot of
double takes as people walk or drive by. It is sealed with an anti-graffiti wax coating which cleans up easily.

"DOG LICKING ICE-CREAM"
This is a Trompe L'oeil scene for Heidi's Frozen Yogurt in Long
Beach, CA. The owner wanted a "Norman Rockwell"
type of scene. So I came up with a Grandpa type figure with his
Granddaughter and a Dalmatian sneaking a lick.
These figures are cut out of Ultra-Rigid M.D.O. board and
sealed with an Anti-graffiti gloss coating.

This client traveled around the world and wanted design elements in her home
to reflect this. I painted a Japanese "Shoji Screen" on wood and installed it on
the bathroom wall. The client loved the hummingbird at the bottom....I also
glued real bamboo pieces on both sides for a more realistic effect...Also, I stenciled
bamboo shoot patterns on the three surrounding walls.
