Whereas a picture of a house or a flower requires little thinking</div> <div>  about to understand, the meanings of abstraction in art are usually</div> <div>  not apparent at first glance. An analogy would be the difference, for example, </div> <div> between pop or country music and modern jazz. Most people can tap </div> <div> their feet to the first two examples while the latter might require a</div> <div>  somewhat more sophisticated understanding of music. Neither one is </div> <div> better than the other but abstraction in art or modern jazz is fairly new</div> <div>  in art history and to a large extent is still developing and may be considered </div> <div> experimental and unexplored to a large extent.
