Trompe L'oeil is a French term which means "Fool the Eye". It is the use of painting techniques that create the illusion of 3-dimensions or playing with some of the
laws of perspective to fool the mind of the observer...(Painting a bird flying by that looks real.) It goes back as far as the Greek and Roman empire and further.
This is one of the most fun techniques...because of the delight of the viewer.
