Tuscany Kitchen
On this mural the Clients called and said they wanted a wall in their kitchen to have a Tuscany mural. They had said they wanted a window looking out over a Tuscan scene.
I suggested that they have their cat sitting in the window...I aged-faux color-washed the walls to emulate a smoky old plaster feel.
I also suggested that a shelf with kitchen items on it and perhaps a couple of hats and umbrellas by the back door...Maybe some grapeleaves over front room entry.
They agreed and I began painting. After I got going I thought it might be nice to have an old photograph of grandma next to the shelf...also some hanging lavender
seemed like a great idea....I also decided that a trompe l'oeil carved embellishment would look good over the window. Over the door they wanted a window with
one pane broken and a bird in it's nest visible...Here is the final result.
